Random Magic SparksLately I’ve had this almost overwhelming desire to bring magic into my life. I created a shrine to nine faces of Ome, I’ve been thinking about spells and rituals, and I’ve been looking for magic in the mundane. I’ve been thinking about The Source and about how wondrous the world is. Unfortunately, this brings me some sadness.

The reason it saddens me is because magic is being stripped from the world and from people’s hearts by the media and a general sense of despair and disbelief that’s coming over the population. What I find truly disturbing is that people have no trouble believing in evil and hate, but they do have trouble believing in magic and love.

Everyone believes in evil. Many are even willing to believe that it comes from a mystical being (Satan) and can’t be stopped. They see hate, and believe in it so much that they become avatars for it. People are embracing everything that’s wrong with the world while shutting out, dismissing, and insulting everything that’s good.

I was looking for information on spells and rituals and more often than not saw comments of disbelief, disregard and defamation. Anyone who still believes in magic in any form is seen as something freakish and even stupid. It’s horrible. Magic is even being trained out of children at ever-earlier ages. That really bothers me. Children are, or at least were, perfect little conduits for magic and beauty, but jaded, miserable parents and a bleak society are stripping it out of them at the first signs.

I guess people just don’t realize that if we let magic die, that’s it, we’re screwed. We have to look for it and find it and use it every single day. We have to see the beauty and love and good that exists in the world. We just have to. Anything else is asking for destruction. For some reason, that seems to be what those in control are aiming for. Basically, anything to gain control and make money, even if it means that plants, animals and even people die. It’s a self-destructive pattern that has to be stopped.

I keep encouraging people to look for the magic of life and believe in it. I’m not saying you should go get a stick and convince yourself you’re Harry Potter, but there is real magic and beauty and you can encourage it, spread it and make it be the dominant force in the world. Doing anything less is almost unfathomable to me. Maybe it’s because I spent too much of my life in the dark, and I finally see the truth of the world. Maybe I’m just one of the few people left that can see how things really work. Either way, I firmly believe that people need to start changing, and fast.

Magic is all around us, every day, it permeates everything and yet you must open your eyes to SEE it happening. The words “miracle”, “coincidence”, and “fate” get thrown around a lot but people tend to forget that these very words indicate that magic is happening RIGHT NOW.
