“What are we here for?” Is probably one of the oldest questions of humanity. There are many different beliefs about the purpose of human life. I have my own beliefs in regards to the purpose of our brief human lives.
I believe that regardless of race, religion, gender or any other label, we all have one thing to do while we’re on this Earth. Our job while we’re here is to be the best person that we can be and do our best to make the world around us a better place. We’re not here to be selfish and think only of ourselves. We’re here to elevate the human experience and improve the world for those who are here now, and for the generations to come.
The media, the government, the unevolved people who want to keep us under their control, they’ll lead you to believe that you should just take care of yourself, and that there’s no hope for helping the world and no point in helping others. That’s neither true nor right. Selfishness and apathy do nothing but allow the world to fall further into disarray and allow those in control to keep it. It is up to each of us to do anything and everything that we can to be our best selves and create a better world.
I believe that is our purpose. I think that’s what we should all strive for, and anyone who doesn’t is just wasting their lives. Many of the greatest teachers from our time and times past have said similar, only in prettier words. Look though, and you’ll see that many of the wisest souls to grace our planet have said that those not being their best are just wasting space and don’t deserve the lives they live. One can choose to be hurt and offended by that thought, or, we can choose to be motivated and inspired by it. We can always choose to be better, and we should.
If I asked you if you think you’re living up to your human purpose, many of you will scoff at the unimportance of such ideas or insist that you are, even if you’re not. It’s hard to look at yourself honestly and admit that you’re part of the problem. We all need to though. We should all look deep and make choices and live lives that represent the best we can be and the best we can do.
I believe that everyone can live an elevated life, living up to their human purpose, they just have to want to. And there’s the tricky part. Society has taught so many that such things are unimportant and living a blind, consumerist life is just fine. Somewhere deep in our hearts every one of us knows the truth, knows that we should be striving to be more, we just need to listen to our hearts.
