When most people think of wealth, their mind immediately goes to money. Society has taught people that wealthy means to have a lot of money, and most likely more than a certain amount. To me, wealth means so much more than that.
I have been chanting a daily mantra of “Health – Wealth – Magic”. These are the things I want in my life. The first one is obvious, the third is another article unto itself, but we’re talking about the wealth part today. For me, money is just a part of the wealth that I’m trying to attract into my life.
For me, wealth is a synonym for abundance, just with fewer syllables, which is why I use it in my mantra. Now, when you say abundance, people usually get a different idea. However, the two truly are synonyms, it’s just that society has implied a different meaning. When we think of abundance we think of having plenty, even more than enough, of all sorts of things. It’s an idea of limitless bounty. That’s what wealth is to me as well.
Now, it hasn’t been easy training my brain to believe that wealth is about more than money, but I’m reinforcing that idea. Wealth means having plenty of food, love, money, happiness, years to live, laughter, good experiences, everything that makes for a happy life. That’s the wealth I’m after. Not just money, but all the myriad things that make up lasting happiness.
I think that people need to stop associating wealth with money alone. And moreover, stop associating money with happiness. Monetary abundance is just part of the greater puzzle. In fact, some people can live happily with hardly any money at all. It’s about where your heart and mind are.
At one time or another most people say they want to be wealthy. What does that mean to you? Do you see it as overall abundance, or just cashflow? If you had to choose between having only monetary wealth and having overall abundance, which would you want?
