Ah, love! It can be one of the most wonderful things in the world. The joy, the connection, and all that comes with it. Most of us want to love and be loved. It’s a pretty natural thing. So, when love isn’t coming into our lives or working right, we may start to look for ways to nudge things in our favor. We spiritual folks may turn to prayer or magic, and even non-spiritual folks will sometimes seek out magic when the need for love gets strong enough. “Real Love Spells” tend to come into play when the lovelorn are seeking help.

Now, I’d love to tell you that you can just cast a spell, get the person you want, and live happily ever after. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. Moreover, trying to take the easy way out can often lead to horrible consequences. So, let’s just get the ugly parts out of the way before I move on to the good stuff…

It’s not always easy…

• There are hardly ever any quick fixes. Even the most powerful magic is rarely instant. Be patient!

• “Black magic” does not get better results than any other magic, and in fact, if you don’t know what you’re doing or who you’re dealing with, it can be incredibly dangerous.
• Don’t spend money on love spells. Honestly, you’re likely to get better results paying for a reliable dating site than for a spell. There are far too many charlatans ripping desperate people off these days.

Now, let’s get to the good stuff…

If you’re going to look for spiritual aid, be wary of what spells you use. Real love spells, written by people who know what they’re doing, are almost always going to focus on you, or drawing in a non-specific yet appropriate partner. Using real love spells is fine, just be careful, and make sure that the spell feels good to you. If it seems too complicated, sounds weird, or makes you feel “off” in any way, keep looking. When you find the right love spell for your needs, just reading it is going to make you feel good. Remember, successful spellwork relies on your energy, so if the spell doesn’t feel good, it just won’t work.

There are lots of things you can do to attract love that will work, albeit more slowly than some of the claims you may see some unscrupulous practitioners make. Herbs and stones for example, can carry vibrations and energy that can  make your desire for love more apparent, open you up to love, or attract a good partner. Herbs like allspice, basil, cayenne and cinnamon are great for attracting love. I have some great love herbs in the Herbs and Specialties section of the shop, including love rice, which you can carry in your pocket to draw love. As for stones and crystals, amethyst, copper, moonstone and rose quartz are excellent.

If you want true, lasting love, I recommend stacking the deck in your favor even more by doing anything you can to make yourself the best person you can be. Let’s face it, no one wants to get involved with a trainwreck of a person. Even if you’re mostly awesome, there’s always room for work. There are plenty of mundane things you can do in that department, like really looking at yourself and seeing where your personality or thoughts can be improved.

You can also improve your energy by using meditation and chanting. You can do wonders for your vibration this way. Personally I love using a japa mala to do chanting, I think it feels wonderful and I’ve had great results. You may prefer meditation or some other form of energy work. Try a few things and see what works best for you.

The simple facts…

In the end, it’s true that magic and spiritual work can help you in matters of love. There are real love spells. Everything just takes time. You can’t rush it and you can’t force it. You can move things in your favor using ritual, herbs, stones, meditation and other methods, but it’s still going to happen only when everything is right. That time will just come faster if you’re in the right spiritual and mental place for it. Learn to love yourself, accept the process, and be ready with open arms and an open heart when true love comes your way.
