Bow down to the awesomeness of Foamy!
Foamy is a sarcastic squirrel created for the webtoon Neurotically Yours by Johnathan Ian Mathers of iLL WiLL PreSS. He’s sarcastic, snarky, and goes off about all the things in society that tick us off.
Someone introduced me to the Foamy character some years ago. I was instantly hooked on the Neurotically Yours series. Neurotically Yours is an internet video comic strip. Each episode is only a few minutes long, and they typically center around Foamy the Squirrel, but also feature his friends Germaine, Pilz-e, Begley and The Hatta. Foamy has an opinion on everything, and he’s there to let you know about it.
The series is great because Mathers obviously has some strong opinions about people and society in general, and through Foamy he can express them to the world without fear and without restraint. I often cheer and smile as the opinionated little squirrel goes off on his rants. Neurotically Yours tends to hit most of the things that intelligent people are bothered by in today’s society.
Foamy has gone off on everything from “StarShmucks” Coffee and their cup sizes to “Snell” tech support, annoying people with cell phones, Ebonics and everything in between. If there’s something about people or society that gets on your nerves, Foamy has probably had a rant about it. It’s fun to watch him go off on things; it’s like affirmation and release for the frustrated American.
When not in rant mode, foamy and his friends have some weird experiences, expressed in such episodes as “Amityville Toaster”, “Kosher Crackers” and “Kavorkian Scarf”. Some of the episodes are just off the wall, but they’re almost always highly amusing. Over time, Pilz-e has grown on me; his oddness just has to be seen to be understood. It takes some time to get used to his drug-induced speed-speech, but once you do, you’ll laugh your butt off at the things he says.
Neurotically Yours is a great way to unwind after a hard day of dealing with idiotic people. On days when I get to thinking all people just suck, I watch some Foamy and get some confirmation and amusement. Even the odd episodes make you feel better somehow. If you’ve never checked out the strip, I suggest you head over to the site and have a look. There are tons of episodes, and they’re well worth watching.
Go watch some episodes now, or feel Foamy’s squirrely wrath!
