I mentioned in an earlier post that finding information on being a real lady was a challenge to say the least. Time after time, search after search, I was met with a flood of information that sent completely the wrong message.

I came across a list that promised to tell me the natural beauty secrets of the black and white era screen ladies. What it actually provided was a brief explanation of why that woman stood out, and what expensive product you could buy to achieve the look. Another had an article about posture and grace being essential for a lady, this right next to a snippet for another post expounding the virtues of women offering oral sex.

I tried looking for a good, natural brush for my hair type and was bombarded by advertisements to buy expensive brushes, the usefulness of which was determined by what type of products and electronic styling devices you’d be using. I tried looking up classic beauty rituals and was presented with lists of either the insane rituals of people like Bathory, or advertisements to buy this product and that.

Someone has to do something about the quality of information available to women on the internet. There are informative sites for men hat give them what they want to know without constantly pushing trendy products or artificial methods. Why is there so little of that for women? Most of what’s out there for us is all product oriented. Buy this product or device and you’ll be better, you don’t need information. It’s not right.

If you’re a writer, perhaps you can contribute by not doing pieces about modern trends and products and instead offering information on things like natural beauty, feminine history, healthy living and being yourself. Maybe do reviews and informational pieces about natural products and methods. If people only perpetuate the current trend, we’ll be stuck. However, if people think and change, we can turn the tide and make the information women want available to them.
