I’ve never left any question that I’m disgusted with most of society. The media is constantly encouraging gormless, rude behavior and making courtesy, compassion and modesty seem like freakishness.

A true lady is almost impossible to find in today’s society. The few who are left are often looked down on by the rest of society. They’re considered prudish, stuck-up or elitist. They’re laughed at while people who let paparazzi snap photos of their genitals or fall down drunk in public are applauded and set as an example of acceptable conduct.

People are so quick to equate a woman with manners and brains to an ice queen and a bitch, it can be too much to take. Some women have given thought to being more ladylike, but they push those thoughts aside in favor of being accepted by modern society. It’s a sad state of affairs when laziness, promiscuity and idiocy are idolized but positive qualities are shunned.

I’d personally love to see a resurgence in ladies in society. I’d love to see mothers teaching their daughters how to sit with their legs closed, eat politely, enhance their natural beauty with minimal makeup and flattering but not revealing clothing. I’d like to see girls growing up to be proud of their intelligence and conversational abilities. I’d like to see women walking tall and with grace. What we have these days is a far cry from any of that, and while we’ve been taught it’s “normal”, many people will admit that it’s not what they’d choose for society if they felt they had any say in things.

I think women should bring back the traits that go into being a lady. It’s never really too late. Anyone can change at any time. And for those with daughters, you can begin teaching them right now so they grow into something better than the rude tarts the media tries to make them into. If enough women decided to be real ladies despite what people might think, we could actually make a shift that would ripple through the future generations.
