Superheroes - 3D by dracoseleneSo first you have to understand what makes a hero. A hero gives of themselves for others. You know all those firefighters from 9/11 that everyone calls heroes? They gave their very lives for others. I’m not saying that you should die to be considered a hero, far from it. You should give of yourself though.

Am I a hero? yep, in quite a few ways I have given of myself for the benefit of others. My wife and I both give of ourselves every day hoping to make your lives better in some way. We generally consider it a good day when something we have said or done influences another person’s life in a positive way.

So here I am, calling upon the heroic spirit within all of you out there in internet land. Give of yourselves so that we may continue to give away parts of our spirit. Give away one whopper or cup of crappuccino so that we can live another year. That’s right, I’m asking you to give money. To me. Be MY hero, show me that the world gives a shit. Show us that we have good reason to keep trying to help people.

We are disabled and HAVE to work from home. This IS our day job folks. We take care of two animals who are our children. However, very soon those two children may very likely be put to death. I know it sounds a bit melodramatic but it is NOT. There are zero no-kill shelters around here and in all likelihood our cat will end up in the pound. Honestly, I’ll most likely just let her run free outside where she might have a better chance at life. The other child is a cockatiel, an annoying one. He’s my little boy though, and I love him dearly. You ever tried to re-home a bird? It’s bloody difficult. He’ll wind up dead if we have to leave.

So yeah, you could be a hero to us. Save the lives of our children and keep us from having to leave our home.

Be my hero and maybe I’ll stop being sick. That’s right, I am physically ill from all the stress and depression this situation is causing us. We both are. Lower our stress levels and encourage us to keep doing what we do to help people. We can’t help if we’re all fucked up and sick all the damn time.

Be a hero. Stop giving money away to new toys, big causes who use the money to pad their own wallets, and stupid crap that makes you laugh. You wanna help and make a difference? Give to those who actually NEED it.

Can’t afford to donate? I get it, I really do. You want to give but you just can’t. Fine, then share. Share the links to our zazzle store, or our bonanza store, Bri’s books, or to our fundraiser. Get the word out that we actually need heroes like you. Only twenty paltry dollars can make a helluva difference when 100 people donate all at once (that’s 2000 dollars). Yeah … 20 bucks can make all the difference between happiness or a dead cat.

Want something out of it? No problem. Lemme know when you share or buy something, or hell ANYTHING that proves you are the stuff of heroes. I’ll immortalize you in writing right here on this blog. I’ll write you in to one of my stories or books. Prove yourself a hero and I’ll write you as one.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. All it takes is a little bit here and there and it all adds up. You two are heroes to me. I want you to be happy and able to support yourselves doing what you best. Making people’s lives better. 🙂

I’ll keep trying. But right now I need help myself.
