In another email I got today they were talking about how Ugandan newspapers are now outing gay, bi and trans people. This is horrible to begin with, but what’s worse is that in Uganda and other places in the world it’s actually illegal to not be heterosexual and you can be jailed or even killed for being anything else. How screwed up is that?
I am completely baffled by the global war on homosexuality. People are what they are, and whether it’s biology or a choice really doesn’t matter. People have the right to be whatever they are as long as they’re not hurting anyone. If the person you’re involved with is over legal age, human and consenting, nothing else should matter. Being gay isn’t wrong and sure as hell shouldn’t be seen as a crime.
The world is so f*cked up right now. There’s so much hate and people keep spreading it. Why does it make any difference if someone is gay? If you don’t approve and don’t like it, then be hetro and keep your mouth shut. It’s not like the homosexuals are trying to turn straight people gay. They’re not hurting anyone. They’re just trying to live and be loved just like everyone else. It’s a sad state of affairs when loving someone becomes a death-sentence offense.
Even in the US where celebrities are coming out as gay all the time, we still have huge problems. LGBT people are still being treated poorly, abused and even killed. Religious nuts are trying to cloud science with antiquated bullshit and make people think that being gay is a sin. It’s not. It’s just something that happens. People are just people and we need to respect that.
If we’re going to have a war on something, why not pedophilia? Obviously everyone wants to have something to do with sex since the gay issue and rape are so big. So if you want to interfere with someone’s sex life or hurt people who are different, why not go after people who are actually sick, evil and wrong? Start a global war on child abuse and child sexual crime. At least that would be something worthy to do.
I’m never going to understand the hate toward LGBT people. I personally don’t care. Like I said, if your partner is of legal age, human and willing, nothing else really matters. Gay relationships don’t bother me in the least. I’m more bothered by people who think cutting and defecating on each other is sexual fun. That’s sick. Being gay is about as interesting or offensive to me as being tall or short. It’s just not even something worth thinking about.
I know it’s wrong, but sometimes I think about people being killed for being gay and I think that anyone who holds that kind of belief should be shot on sight. But then that would just be more killing in the name of a belief, and that wouldn’t help. What we need is for people to wake the hell up and stop being hateful, stupid assholes. People are fighting over and killing for all the wrong reasons. Live your own life and just leave other people the hell alone. It’s not like they’re having gay sex on your dining table. Just get over it and move on to something that will actually make the world better.
