I’ve decided to run a giveaway this month. The prize is going to be that gorgeous handcrafted japa mala in the photo. A japa mala is a string of 108 beads used to count repetitions of a chant or affirmation while meditating. Commonly used by Bubbhists, japa mala strands have quickly gained popularity among many people of all faiths as a way to aid focus during meditation. This japa mala was handcrafted by yours truly. It contains a combination of glass and synthetic beads with anodized silver bead spacers. The spacers are an uncommon addition, but I think they add an attractive look and also make it easier to feel the separation between one bead and the next. Hanging from the focal bead at the bottom is a sterling silver Om symbol. Om (Aum, Ohm) is considered to be the sound of creation and is both a sound and symbol of great power.
