Cute crocheted teddy bear

This is an original pattern that I created for a tiny teddy bear. I love working with crochet cotton, which is what this little toy bear is made with.

Materials:

Small amount of size 10 crochet cotton in desired color (about 1/4 ball)
Size C Hook
Large sewing needle
Fiberfill stuffing

Terms:

sc = single crochet
ch = chain
dec = decrease
dbc = double crochet
inc = increase
st = stitch
slst = slipstitch

**Note**

Entire doll is worked in rounds, do not join. leave at least a 5-6″ tail on each piece, these will be used for sewing the doll together later.

Arm (Make 2)

– ch 2, 8 sc in 1st st

– make 64 more sc

– end off, stuff.

Leg (Make 2)

– ch 2, 10 sc in 1st st

– make 80 more sc

– end off, stuff.

Ear (Make 2)

– ch 2, 5 dbc in 1st st, slst

– end off

Snout

– ch 2, 6 sc in 1st st

– 2 sc in each st, around (12 sts)

– sc in each st around (12 sts)

– end off, stuff.

Body

– ch 2, 6 sc in 1st st (6 sts)

– 2 sc in each st, around (12 sts)

– sc in next st, inc in next st, repeat around (18 sts)

– sc in each of next 2 sts, inc in next st, repeat around (24 sts)

– sc in each of next 3 sts, inc in next st, repeat around (30 sts)

– make 90 more sc

– sc in each of next 3 sts, dc next 2 sts together, repeat around (24 sts)

– make 72 more sc

– stuff

– sc in each of next 2 sts, dec next 2 sts together, repeat around (18 sts)

– make 54 more sc

– sc in each of next 2 sts, inc in next st, repeat around (24 sts)

– make 120 more sc

– sc in each of next 2 sts, dec next 2 sts together, repeat around (18 sts)

– sc in each of next 2 sts, dec next 2 sts together, repeat around (14 sts)

– stuff

– end off. use end of thread to gather the opening shut, then weave end down through body and snip off

Assembly

– Roll small amount of stuffing, place into snout, sew to front of face (whip-stitch in a circle around the snout)

– Sew arms and legs to body at desired locations (whip-stitch in a circle around each arm)

– Sew ears to top of head by going through the 1st stitch, through the head, and back around, front to back, several times.

– Stitch face details on as desired

– Pull all ends inside body and clip off.
