We all breathe the same air. We all sleep and eat, we all have blood and bones and flesh. We are alike in so many ways. So why do people keep finding new ways to become divided and hate each other?
As humans, we tend to think that division and hate are universal traits. If we met aliens, we’d find they’re just like us. I don’t think that’s totally true. Perhaps some may, but I believe there would be others who would look at us in disgust. We are one species, we should work together and love each other, not fear and hate and kill one another.
I have never been able to understand how there can be so much hate in the world. We are kind by nature. We’re not born greedy or hateful, we become that way. We are good until the world teaches us not to be. Why does it do that to us? Why is the world so fixated on hate and separation?
I would give anything to be able to just wipe out all the lines we draw to separate ourselves from one another. I’d love to live in a world where color, nationality, sexual orientation, style and all of those other things we hate each other over were just set aside. Can you imagine a world where people accepted each other’s differences rather than hating because of them?
Some people say I’m stupid for thinking the world could ever be like that. It’s far from stupid, it a worthy thing to dream of and fight for. Accepting the hate of the world isn’t smart, it’s sad. I may or may not live long enough to see peace on Earth, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop fighting for it. I will keep sharing love, peace and balance for as long as I can speak or type.
What gives me hope is seeing that even in all the ugliness of the world, people are standing up and speaking out. people are letting go of the hate and the bigotry and becoming better people. It *is* happening. We are touching others and opening them up to the possibility of a better future. We keep the hope alive, and it is spreading. All we need to do is keep spreading messages of love and understanding and never, ever stop.
