Socks with sandals? Argyle vests? Skinny jeans? Nope, the biggest fashion mistake anyone can make is none of these. So what is the biggest fashion mistake that anyone can make? It’s a big one, and you are probably guilty of it.

The biggest fashion mistake anyone can make is… *Drumroll please*… Telling other people that their sense of style is wrong. Yes, in my opinion, telling other people what they should and shouldn’t wear is the greatest fashion faux pas ever. Who are you to tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t wear? Even the so-called *greatest* fashion designer on Earth doesn’t have that right.

I can agree that there are a lot of things that look really bad. I’d probably ban skinny jeans and micro-mini skirts if I could. Armadillo shoes would also be gone. However, that’s just my opinion. If other people like them, I can give my opinion, but I have no right to tell other people not to wear them.

I got off on this train of thought after reading an article by another Bubblews writer about the “10 Worst Fashion Mistakes Men Make”. While I agree that many of the things they pointed out look horrible to my eyes, we have no right to tell people not to wear what they want to wear. We should never make people feel bad for wearing what they like or can afford. We can make suggestions, but when it comes right down to it, it’s up to the individual to wear what they feel good in.

I’m sure most people would call me a fashion disaster. I really couldn’t give a flying frell. I buy and wear what I like. I want to feel good and look good in my own eyes. If anyone else doesn’t like it, they can look the other way and get over it. I will never change my personal style just because someone else doesn’t like what I have on.

If someone asks, go ahead and give your opinion on what they’re wearing. You have a right to your opinion. However, don’t tell other people what they should and shouldn’t wear. Even if you see someone walking down the street in a tank top with their bra straps showing, parachute pants and sandals with socks. If that person is happy and feels good, tell them how awesome they are for being that brave and expressing their personal style. Don’t tell them they look like a clown who got dressed in the dark at the Salvation Army. Don’t tell them they’re out of style. Give them credit for doing what makes them feel comfortable and happy.

Do you try to force your ideas of style or the media’s ideas of style on other people? Are you what others would call a fashion victim?
