Society has obviously messed people’s heads up pretty badly. I’ve noticed lately that people seem to treat suggestions of personal improvement and mindful living like it’s some new kind of mind control. They rail against people telling them how to elevate themselves and berate those people for trying to take away their choices and their ability to be themselves. The thing is, the ones they’re arguing with and fighting against are the ones trying to help them be free and happy, and it’s the rest of society and the media that’s controlling their minds.
I can’t speak for everyone out there, but I know that I’m not trying to take away people’s choices or their individuality. Quite the contrary, I’m trying to open them up to more choices and to actually being an individual instead of being a puppet. Yes, I believe that adopting certain ways of thinking and living are a good way to personal freedom and happiness, as well as changing the world. However, these ways of thinking and living don’t keep people from being themselves, they’d just keep them from being sheep and keep them from being part of the problems of the world.
It’s sad to realize that the media has done it’s work so well. People actually act as if those trying to help them are the bad guys while the ones who are holding them down are the good guys. They’d rather be like the sleepwalking masses than break out and be free to control their own minds and lives. How messed up is that? It’s actually quite complicated to explain how I can say that I believe if all people lived a certain way the world would be a better place, and at the same time they can maintain their individuality and freedom. I can only hope that some people get it. Or that eventually I can say it the way I feel it.
Basically, I believe that everyone should try to be their personal best. Find your flaws, admit them, and fix them. Live a life you can be proud of rather than the one that is expected or accepted. Learn, think, grow, strive for your personal best physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Care about your fellow people and about the planet you live on. Be good to each other. All of those things that I believe people should be doing are incredibly beneficial and liberating, not controlling or limiting one from being who they’re truly meant to be. If anything, I believe that this way of life will allow you to know who you truly are, instead of what the rest of the world has told you that you are or should be.
People need to open their minds and accept the help and guidance that’s all around them. There are plenty of people out there who have learned important lessons about life and the world and they’re willing to teach you. They’re willing to help you see the actual reality and not the one the media wants you to believe. They want you to be open and true and free. They want the best for you. I want the best for you, and even though people will argue about it, there’s nothing subjective there. I’m not expecting people to be my idea of a good person, I expect them to become their own idea of a good and whole person. You just need to open up your mind enough to figure out what that really is, regardless of what society may be telling you.
