Have you noticed in the last year or so the major resurgence of the fascination with vampires? There have been more vampire shows and movies than there had been in a long time. New vampire books are coming out, advertising is picking up on it, it’s really becoming a big thing again.

It kind of makes one wonder if there is a reason for it. Maybe it’s something as simple as media realizing that there’s a lot of money to be made off people’s love of vampire myth and legend. But if you’re like me, with the hope and belief that vampires really exist, you could think of it in another way.

Let’s just suppose that vampires are real. And let’s suppose that they are getting ready to make themselves known in the world. Wouldn’t flooding the media with vampire imagery and stories be a great way to get us ready for it? If everyone’s already thinking about something, and talking about it, their minds would theoretically be more open to it. I suppose being the oddball that I am I’m just hoping that the day might come when we find out that vampires are real, living among us, and have been all along. I know it would be a massive change in the world, but it would certainly make things interesting.

I know some people would be freaking out though. The Christians are already losing it over the gay issue, can you imagine how they’d get if vampires came out? Holy crap.Eh, maybe the vampires would eat some of them. I know that’s a horrible thought, but you know, some days my tolerance for human stupidity is pretty low.
