It’s horrible that people still think this, but it is not true that all Pagans hate Christians or other followers of Abrahamic faiths. Some people are bigoted, but generally, we try to take a pretty accepting attitude towards others’ beliefs.

For most of us, we will live and let live. If you don’t shove your faith in our faces, we won’t shove ours in yours. If you treat us with respect, we’ll do the same for you. Generally, it’s not the religion that we hate, it’s the bad apples who follow it. It’s the particular people who treat us with hate and disrespect, who condemn our souls and see us as monsters. It’s those people and their extreme beliefs that we hate, not the religion as a whole.

Just because we don’t believe the same as someone else doesn’t mean that we hate them. We just want to be treated like anyone else, with respect and decency. When people attack us and our beliefs, that’s when negative emotions and actions crop up. We’re not going to take kindly to being treated with contempt and abuse.

Most Pagans are also aware that not all Christians hate us. They may not like or understand us, but they’ll let us be. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of history to back up the ill-will between these two religious groups. We have to work very hard to bring harmony and understanding so that we can all live peacefully in this world.
