Hollywood has done a great job of getting the public to believe (and fear) that witches can do all sorts of things, like levitate, fly, change their form, and shoot lightning out of their fingertips. The truth is, magick is a lot more subtle.

Back in the days of The Craft, it wasn’t uncommon to see people coming into the old forums asking for spells to change into a cat or someone more attractive, spells to levitate, or spells to light things on fire. Time after time, users had to inform them that these things simply do not happen in the real world. Unfortunately, it’s not any better today than it was in the 90s. In some ways it’s even worse.

These fantastic things are not actually possible with real magick. Believe me, most Pagans wish they were true, it would be a lot of fun, but it’s just fantasy. Now, things like astral travel and dream-walking as an animal are considered possible. On a spiritual level our souls can fly. Sadly though, what you see in the movies is just good effects and wild imaginations coming together to form entertainment.
