In my last article “Why You Should Only Cast Magic Love Spells On Yourself, Never Others,” I explained that most love spells are a violation of other people’s free will. Even though binding spells are incredibly popular, these too infringe on the free will of others and are just as wrong as love spells.
Binding spells are typically used to keep someone away that you feel is going to harm you, or has already harmed you. The idea is that by binding them, you prevent them from taking action against you. However, binding affects the free will of that person, and when you mess with free will, the results can be disastrous.
The alternative to binding spells is to use protection spells. Protection spells guard you and/or your space from attack or harm. These are perfectly acceptable, since they only affect you and your personal space. Protection spells come in many forms, and can be extremely effective. Since they don’t interfere with free will, they almost never have any negative effects.
Much like love spells, there are plenty of people out there offering binding spells. Just because they’re popular doesn’t make them right. Most people simply do not take into consideration the karmic and energetic backlash that comes with forcing your own will on someone else. Contrary to popular belief, binding spells are not the spiritual equivalent of a restraining order. A restraining order says a person shouldn’t do something, but doesn’t actually stop them from doing it. A binding is designed to be physically or spiritually impeding to the individual, and that is wrong.
I’ll also say that personal protection spells that are designed to keep away a specific person can fall into the realm of affecting free will. If you cast a spell on yourself to keep X person from hurting you, you’re still using magical energy to change the actions of person X. It’s better to use blanket protection spells that protect you from any harm. Basically, a spell should never be worded or intended to affect anyone that has not given their permission to be affected.
