You all know me, I don’t usually work on the weekends. I make a point of not working, so that I can enjoy some of my life. Unfortunately, I’ve been so stressed that I just had to work so that I wouldn’t go crazy. I would rather have relaxed and done something enjoyable, but I just couldn’t.
So, in an attempt to not lose my mind, I completely redid the Books page. I think it looks a lot better now. It’s got bigger images, all the buying links are right there, and there’s no extra clicking or awkward menus to go through. The synopses are gone, but you can find that on any of the buying pages. Overall, I’m really happy with the new look. While I was there I added Wisdom Bites to the table, and I’ll be updating it as it comes out on new platforms.
As it turns out, I only have one poetry book that I can put up next week. I thought I had finished volumes 10 and 11, but I still have to write 5 more to finish 11, and I have no idea when that will happen. So, only one new book next week. On the up-side though, I’ll be able to get to work on something new that much sooner. I need to take a look at the manuscript bits I have on my hard drive and see if any of it is workable into a real book. Otherwise, I’ll have to get creative.
In case you hadn’t noticed, we’re all about getting new product into the world right now. Eric is trying to get 200 new products a day into the Zazzle store, and I’m trying to get more books out. We’re still praying like hell that the fundraiser will bring us the money we need, but in the meantime we’re working our asses off to get more income in. We need sustainability anyway, and the possibility of being homeless has certainly lit a fire under our asses.
Oh, and on that front, the Texas situation is not looking good. I’m getting really scared. We only have 78 days to get the rest of that $8000, and preferably more if we can. If we don’t get some generous people soon, I don’t know what we’re going to do. I’m not going down without a fight though, so we’re putting up and pushing products as much as we can in the hopes that everything will take off and start bringing in the income that it should be.
I guess it’s time to get out of here and eat something and maybe, just maybe, have some enjoyment in this day.
