The coolest thing happened this morning. It made me start my day with a smile. I got on the scale and it read 121.0!
If you’ve been following along, you’ll remember that I got sick and got pretty heavy. I was up to 152, which on a 5’1″ frame is a lot. I wanted to get it off. I dieted and exercised like crazy and struggled a lot, with my weight not budging. Then I got smart. I started eating healthy, natural food, cooking at home, and doing reasonable exercise and yoga, and I dropped 30 pounds. I’ve been bouncing around 122-123 for the last few months.
Now, dropping to 121 isn’t major, but it’s cool. It means my body is in a loss cycle again, and that’s great. I’ve reduced a ton of stress out of my life, I’m doing yoga and eating right, and my body is taking care of itself. I bet I’ll lose another pound or two in the next week. That’s how it seems to go. I’ll lose some, stay steady, then lose a little more. I’m cool with that.
I love that my body is learning to take care of itself and I don’t have to struggle anymore. No more counting calories or doing 6 miles a day on the elliptical. No more stress and crying and worrying. It’s so fantastic. And what’s even better is that fact that even though my weight has been steady, my body is reshaping. I’m looking better and getting stronger.
My advice to everyone out there: reduce your stress and adopt a healthy living plan. It works SO much better than dieting and exercising like a fiend. Plus, it just sets you up for long-term health and happiness. You’ll be so much better off in the long run. And happier. I’m so much happier now.
