Today I decided to try Flexibility and Range of Motion | Beginner Yoga With Tara Stiles ( luvit.me/175PQ1J ) This one was harder than yesterday’s routine and it actually hurt quite a bit.
I can’t straighten my legs in most of the poses and I can’t get my heels on the floor. Most of this routine was bent over touching the floor and you’re supposed to have your legs straight, but I can’t do that. The positions I was in to even try this were quite uncomfortable. I felt really awkward. I wanted to do the moves, but it was just too hard. I also hurt my wrists by putting so much pressure on them trying to stay stable.
I got all the way through it the best I could, but this one is WAY too advanced for me. I did some extra stretching after the video ended. I guess I need a lot more. I’m not sure what to do to get my legs so that they’ll straighten. Right now that is by far my biggest issue. I’m going to have continual problems if I can’t find a way to get my legs stretched.
Any ideas? The two things I’ve been doing are to put my foot up on a chair and then lean over it, pushing my knee down and staying for as long as I can, then doing the other side, and sitting on the floor with my legs straight out and my hands on the floor, slowly coming forward as far as I can with my back straight and holding as long as I can. Both hurt a lot and I can’t go very far at all. I’d like to find something that will work quickly. If I can’t, I’m not sure I’ll be able to continue with the yoga. I don’t want to have to stop.
