I have noticed that in some places around the internet, I get a certain amount of resistance when I talk about my successes. They get upset, or try to downplay it as luck or a fluke or less than someone else. It’s odd to me, but at the same time, I used to be in that headspace, so I get it.

First off, people don’t like to see a rebel succeed. I do, but a lot of people don’t. I’m the epitome of “screw the rules”. I don’t do any of the things a writer is “supposed” to do, I dominate a category that most people think is a joke, and not only do I love it, but my income from it increases every single week. People don’t like that.

Also, people don’t like hearing how someone is doing better than them or not facing the problems that they are. They’re so wrapped up in themselves and their own failures and problems that they can’t be happy for others. It’s really sad. Both reasons are just so sad. I love seeing other people succeed. I love seeing success stories, even if it means someone is doing better than me.

And that’s why I share my successes. I want to inspire and motivate people. I want to show you that you can come from nothing and become something. You can have no “real” skills and earn a steadily increasing income. You can get over abuse, you can overcome sickness, you can do anything and be as amazing as you want to be.

I don’t share to rub my success in other people’s faces and make them feel bad. Other people do that, but I don’t. I want to show you the possibilities. I want to show you all the good that’s out there. I want you to feel that if someone like me can do it, you can do it too, and maybe even more! I’m sharing my happy moments and all the while wishing for you to have your own.

If people think I’m bragging or being conceited or whatever, so be it. I know where my heart is, and I think a lot of you do too. Happiness shared is doubled! And it can be pretty inspiring to see what other people can accomplish, if you just look at it the right way. Don’t be jealous folks, be joyous. then you’ll have your own success and happiness stories to share.
