I have a few games on my Nexus 7 for when I want some quick fun. As I’ve mentioned before, I’m pretty hooked on Pocket Frogs. Well, they have ads at startup on the game, and they suggested Monster Match. It looked cool, so I downloaded it. I am officially addicted to this game now.

Monster Match Is a combination of a monster fighting game and a gem matching game. It’s pretty simple to pick up, but engaging enough to keep you playing a lot. It has good graphics and is cute, but not too childish. It uses a lot of battery power, but it’s worth it for the fun gameplay and pretty game environments.

You can build a team of 5 monsters to play with. As you make matches on the game board your team builds points to attack with. Your team is on the bottom and the enemies are in the top field. After you make your matches for the turn, your team attacks. You also get to have one player from the internet along for the ride. That player is best used to add extra punch or protection to your team.

There’s a lot more too it too, like daily islands, special events with prizes, evolving your monsters and more. There’s a lot to keep you interested. There are even bonuses and prizes for logging in every day. there are additional options that you can pay real money for, but I’m enjoying the free game a lot. It may take longer to achieve things without spending real cash, but the game is plenty of fun for free.
