I mentioned some time back that we were giving up on a lot of the TV shows that we used to watch because we were sick of the violence and horror. We started looking for other things to watch instead, and one of the things that we came across was Dr. Who.

The show has been around since the 60’s and there’s a *huge* fan base. We’d heard a lot about it, but we were never sure it would be our thing. We did watch and enjoy Torchwood, which is a Dr. Who spinoff, so we finally decided to give it a shot. We were hooked on the first episode.

Dr. Who is a sci-fi show on BBC about a Time Lord who travels through time in the TARDIS, a time machine that looks like a police call box. He travels in time and space having all kinds of adventures. The show has action, intrigue, humor, drama and a total geek element. It’s really awesome. We’ve actually given up two more series that we used to watch so that we have more time to watch Dr. Who.

Apparently, I’ve become such a Whovian that even Bubblews knows it. Today I was presented with a captcha which read “sonic screw driver” which, as any Whovian knows, is the Doctor’s favorite tool. I got such a kick out of that. Coincidence, I think not!

If you haven’t seen the show, I highly recommend it. I’ve never seen the old episodes, but I started watching the 2005 continuation which I think is the 9th Doctor and technically season 27. I’m enjoying it and we’re watching all the episodes.
