There is so much negativity being shown to us in the news and print media. Do you ever really think about it? Do you ever question why those things are what we see all the time? I’ve watched the news and read the magazines, and for every one positive story, there are usually 3-5 negative ones. Sometimes you don’t see anything positive at all. Don’t you wonder about that? I know I do.

When you get down to it, you can see the ugly truth of the matter. The media shows us all the horrific and stressful things in the world to keep us stressed, depressed and in line. If we’re stressed and in fear we make good consumers, and we stay controllable. It may seem like a crazy conspiracy theory, but it’s true.

Happy people don’t buy as much stuff. People who feel good and think for themselves don’t cave to government pressure. If the media filled you with hope and showed you all the good that’s possible in the world, they wouldn’t be able to control you. Now, in a perfect world the media and government wouldn’t want to control you and being happy would be a good thing, but we’re not in that world yet.

But that’s why I encourage people to question the negativity. It’s good if you can seriously limit what you take in as far as news, but some things always get through. When they do, think about it. Don’t let it get you emotionally stressed. Know why it’s being shown to you and then try to find something better. Try to find news sources that are either neutral or positive. And really think about the issues and rather than stressing, try to do something about whatever is going on.

I do believe that people should question everything. The world is not in a good place right now, but we can change it. People just need to wake up to the reality of what’s happening around us and do things to make positive change. “That’s just the way it is” isn’t a valid excuse, and it never was. We all need to stand up, speak out and make the world change into something better.
