I’ve heard a lot of heated debates over the public breast feeding issue. I have a simple stand on that: Cover up. There, isn’t that easy?

I get that a lot of people don’t want to see some stranger’s breast flopping about in public. Even if it’s a lovely breast, something about it being in a child’s mouth, and being shamelessly shown in public makes it less appealing.

I also get that moms want to do what’s natural. They want to breastfeed their babies. A baby doesn’t care that you’re out, it’s hungry when it’s hungry, and you want to give it the love and nutrition that it requires. Nothing at all wrong with that. Not every mom wants to bottle feed just because she’s in a public place.

The simple solution for this is for moms to simply cover up when breast-feeding in public. I’ve seen plenty of moms drape a thin blanket or cloth over the area to provide privacy. Perfect! You get to do a totally natural thing, and those of us who don’t want to see it don’t have to. Why can’t people see how utterly simple this is?

But no, restaurants and other establishments want to ban loving mothers from doing something natural because it may offend someone. Moms with no decency want to flop a breast out in public and make everyone see it. If they’d just meet in the middle, everyone could be happy. If the mom will just obscure the area, she could do her thing and no one would be able to see and be offended. So simple. Why is there still an issue over it?

How do you feel about women breastfeeding in public? Do you agree that simply covering up would be a solution?
