I just wanted to give a shout out to all the idiots, racists, extremists, criminals, rule-breakers, jerks, b*tches and general morons of the world. Thank you. Seriously. Thank you. I’ve found a way to make your stupidity and horror into money. And not even the usual way. So… Thanks.
I have a lot of personal stuff that I can and do use as inspiration for my posts. Unfortunately, there’s only just so much of my past that I can dig up and dish out before it starts to get to me. I need to find other things to write about. Enter the folks I mentioned in paragraph one. That’s where I get the rest of my ideas from.
I look around and see all the people of the world and all the things they’re doing, and I find things to write about. Now, I mentioned “not the usual way” up there. What I mean by that is that instead of regurgitating the same thing everyone has seen on 1000 news and article sites, I write from the other side whenever I can.
I don’t repeat what you already know about the latest idiot or tragedy, I look for the good in it, the lesson in it, or at least my opinion on it. I give something different. I could just gripe and rant about it all, and when I was a more broken person, that’s exactly what I did. I was all fire and venom and ranting up a storm. Unfortunately, not many people read it and I didn’t make a penny from it. When I turned it over, I really started getting somewhere. More readers, more money and I felt a lot better too. All good if you ask me.
I find that I don’t go without inspiration for very long anymore. Why? Because there’s always someone out there doing something stupid or wrong. I don’t even bother with the news, I see enough on FaceBook and the few sites I visit. If it weren’t for my memory, I’d never run out of things to write. It’s sad, but I try to make use of the world being what it is until it becomes something better.
So yes, I thank all the people out there who fuel my fire and give me things to write about. Even some of my readers and fellow writers have inspired things that would probably make them angry if they knew. Oddly, they often like those articles. But that’s all part of the joy of turning ugly into useful and making people think. I’m grateful for my inspiration, no matter where it comes from.
