Natural Oily Skin Scrub Tutorial 1

This may be one of the ugliest products that I’ve ever made. Despite its unattractive appearance, it works well. This all natural scrub is perfect for people with very oily complexions who want to get great skin without using harsh chemicals or spending a fortune on oily skin treatments.

You’ll Need:

1/4 cup ground ginseng
1/4 cup ground herbs (equal parts licorice root, peppermint leaf and flax seed)
1/8 cup grapeseed oil
1/8 cup honey
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda

Grind your herbs in a spice grinder. Make sure to get the ginseng into small pieces or it will be sharp when scrubbing.

Mix all ingredients together until fully combined. If the honey is cold you may need to microwave the mix for about 10 seconds to soften it. I had to warm my mix to get it to incorporate properly.

Place the finished mix into an airtight 1 cup container and store in a cool, dark place for 24-48 hours. It will start off looking like, well, mud and grass to be honest. Then it will expand into a thick mousse-like consistency over time. It doubles in volume. When it has fully expanded it’s ready to use.

To use, simply scoop some of the product and apply to your face in small circles. It’s sticky, but it will spread as the warmth of your skin softens it. Wash off with a gentle soap and warm water. For best results finish with a cool rinse. My uncle has extremely oily skin and he says this keeps his face oil-free for 3 full days. He had to use commercial products every day or every other day at best. So this is really effective, and totally natural.
