I have this cool little thing… I’m not sure if it’s a toy or a decoration or what it is, but I’ve been hanging on to it since I was a kid and I know it’s probably older than me.

The box is kind of neat on its own, but what’s inside is even better. There are a couple of rocks and shells inside, and then there’s the turtle. The turtle is made from a very thin metal and the shell is glued to a small block on the underneath. The head, legs and tail are hung from the shell on these incredibly fine wires. Whenever you even breathe hard on the box, the turtle wiggles all over. It’s so cute.

I keep it on the vanity near my plant and sometimes I’ll poke at it and watch it dance in the box. It’s an amusing little thing and I’m glad I’ve managed to keep it all this time. It came from my great-grand uncle’s store, and he got all sorts of things from closings, floods and fires.

What I really want to know about this is what it says on the cover and on the inside. I’ve never known anyone who could tell me what it was, and I kept forgetting to take pictures to share online. Well, I finally remembered, and I’m really hoping that someone can tell me what it means.

The bottom of the box has a small “Made in China” stamp, so I’m guessing the writing is Chinese, but I’m not sure. Can anyone read it? Do you know what it means? I’m guessing it’s something about turtles, but I’ve always wondered.

Much gratitude in advance if anyone can tell me what the writing says.
