I’ve been seeing a whole lot of buzz about the CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch lately, so I had to go read some things and figure out what it was all about. Apparently, he hates “fat” people. Nice dude, really nice.

He actually stated that he knows his marketing is exclusionary, and wants it that way. He only wants to market his product to “cool”, attractive people. I’m appalled. It makes me very glad that I have never shopped in one of their stores, and now I know that I never will. I hope others feel the same and just boycott the place.

People come in all shapes and sizes. You can be an amazing human being no matter what size you wear. Being thin doesn’t make you better than anyone else. The name brand on your clothes doesn’t make you better than anyone else. The only way to be better is to just be the best person you can possibly be.

It saddens me to see a company that wants to create more socio-economic division than there already is. They want people to have an elitist view of themselves based on body shape and financial status. How is it that our society has not evolved beyond this point yet? How can people be so weak-minded and not want to grow beyond such meaningless things?

I think people can be beautiful and wonderful no matter their shape or size. Every person needs to know that they are worthy and capable of amazing things, no matter what other parts of society say. Don’t pay any attention to the “cool” people. They’re not worth following or emulating. Don’t worry, one day being a decent human being who’s above arbitrary divisions will be the cool thing, and you’ll be ahead of the curve.

I think no one should buy their products anymore. That’ll fix them. 😛
