I was just reading someone’s post about how wearing bras is bad for you. There’s been a lot of debate on this topic over the years, and it seems like for a while it’s better to wear one, and for a while it’s not. I wonder if they’ll ever know for sure.

Now, I’ve seen a lot of the studies that say you’re better off without one. I can see how it may be true. I know that a lot of women prefer to go without a bra, and I probably would some of the time, but I have some issues with it.

For one thing, some of us don’t have perky breasts, so it feels uncomfortable having people see them hanging lower than some others. I feel self-conscious going out in public without a bra because I think people will find me unattractive when they see the way natural 38C breasts fall. It’s probably the media’s fault that women don’t feel good if their breasts aren’t perky, but the fact is that many of us do feel that way.

Then there’s the issue of nipples. I think it’s tacky when you can see a woman’s nipples poking through her clothes. I know you can buy pasties, but I’m not really into the idea of having glue on my skin every time I go out. I have sensitive skin, and I’ve seen photos of what that adhesive can do to a woman when she wears pasties too often. So how do you go without a bra and not look all skanky with your nipples poking up through your shirt? If you wear a camisole or something tight enough to keep them from showing, you may as well be wearing a bra.

So what’s a woman to do? How could you go without a bra and still feel attractive and not feel like you’re showing things people ought not see?

I don’t know what a woman should do. I remember one time I went braless. This creepy old man leered at me the whole time. It didn’t help. The particular blouse. Was a lot more sheer, than I thought. So it was like I was almost topless and I was mortified. I don’t like that. My skin is also really sensitive. Adhesives every day are a no go.

I’ve heard women say, if someone stares. Stare back. I’m not at that place yet. I never will be.
